26 mobiles were stolen

Thieves stole 26 mobile phones from a mobile shop at Kuldharan in Nagar-Karjat taluka. Their market value was around Rs. 5 lakh 20 thousand. The Karjat police tried their best and caught three thieves. The thieves had been waiting for five mobiles till then. However, the police managed to seize 21 mobile phones worth Rs.

On July 11, Pramod Popat Tavhan (resident of Dhalwadi, Tal. Karjat) lodged a complaint with the Karjat Police alleging that thieves opened the shutters of Pragati Mobile Shop on the side of the road in Kuldharan village and stole 26 mobiles worth Rs. 5 lakh 20 thousand. Police launched an investigation. Meanwhile, considering the technical investigation and the method of crime, Karjat police started investigation. According to the sources, the theft was carried out by suspected thieves from Ashti in Beed district and Benwadi in Karmala and Karjat talukas. While searching for the suspects, the police came to know that the accused was working at a brick kiln in the outskirts of Chilwadi village.

The matter was reported to Superintendent of Police Manoj Patil, Additional Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar Agarwal and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Annasaheb Jadhav. Accused by Assistant Inspector Suresh Mane, Faujdar Bhagwan Shirsath, Police Officers Ankush Dhawale, Sunil Malshikhare, Pandurang Bhandwalkar, Shyam Jadhav, Sunil Khaire, Govardhan Kadam, Amit Barde, Ganesh Bhagde, Sagar Mhetre, Shakil Beg, Vikas Chandan, Nitin Narute. Attempts were made to take possession.

The suspects were identified as Pappu Sarjerao Gaikwad (25 years old, resident of Dhamangaon, Taluka Ashti, Beed district), Suraj Balu Gaikwad (20 years old, resident of Benwadi, Karjat). When he was taken into custody and interrogated, he confessed to the crime.

Of the 26 mobile phones stolen from the suspects, 21 were seized and valued at Rs 4 lakh 20,000. Police officials Sunil Malshikhare, Bhausaheb Yamagar and Vikas Chandan are investigating the case.
